The day after I posted the last writing update, I hit my goal of reaching 20,000 words! That’s such a huge achievement for me because I’ve never hit that high of a word count on one of my novels. So right now, I’m the farthest I’ve ever been in a book and I’m both ecstatic and nervous because it means editing is getting closer and closer, which I’ve also never done.
But right now is the time to worry about finishing my first draft!
I decided to take a break from writing this week due to a lot of ongoing stress from my classes, but I’m hoping to get some writing done this weekend! I did write a little bit which was an accomplishment even though I didn’t fulfill last week’s goal of finishing chapter 5. It’s been a challenge to do because of the character’s current state. I’ll get it done sometime soon!
Last week, I set a goal of reaching 10,000 words before the weekend was through and I completed my goal! Hitting the 10k milestone feels good and makes me feel as if I’m actually making progress on this first draft. This is my first project in which I feel motivated to continue writing since now I’m to the part where the bulk of the story is!
But that was last week which means it’s time for another update!
I’ve set a goal for myself using WriteTrack to finish the first draft of the book I’m currently writing by June. I decided I wanted to give small updates on here every now and then to keep myself on track, and I also love talking about my wip.
Every time I do one of these I’ll state the project name, current word count at that moment, favorite song to write to at the moment, my favorite excerpt from the writing, and goals I have set for myself.
