I almost didn’t post a writing update this week because of how busy I’ve been with my classes I haven’t gotten much time to write. But I did write some after I figured out that I needed to go back and add a few new chapters between 11 and 12. It’s going to make the whole traveling aspect better in my opinion.

Writing Update #10
I definitely met my goal for last week seeing as how I’m halfway through chapter 13 at the moment.
I don’t like to plan my chapters in depth because I always end up changing how the path of my story goes, so every new chapter is a surprise. This chapter we’re apparently going to tackle my characters’ sexualities which is good.
Writing Update #9
This weekend I surpassed last week’s goal of only starting chapter 11 because I finished chapter 10, 11, and hit 30,000 words! Every time I advance on this book it’s exciting because I’ve never gotten this far on a first draft and I’ve been writing for years.
Writing Update #8
I got most of the way through chapter 10 and am planning to finish it tomorrow! I also went over 25,000 words so I’m happy for finally reaching that goal too! The only thing is that I’m about 3,000 words behind on my writing tracker so I’ll have to try and catch up soon, but if I don’t it’s not a big deal.
Writing Update #7
Happy New Year everyone! I’m kicking off the year with a writing update because I did not get to it this weekend, mostly because I was cramming in the last few books of 2017. But hey, I finished my reading challenge so it all worked out.
I got close enough to my goal of 25,000 words so I’m not feeling TOO bad for taking a writing break. I’m excited to hopefully finish my first draft sometime this year. 2018 will be a good and exciting one for writing, I hope!
Writing Update #6
It’s the end of the week which means I’m back to continue the writing updates which I have shockingly been keeping up with. I wrapped up chapter 9 Friday night so now it’s on to chapter 10!
Writing Update #5
The day after I posted the last writing update, I hit my goal of reaching 20,000 words! That’s such a huge achievement for me because I’ve never hit that high of a word count on one of my novels. So right now, I’m the farthest I’ve ever been in a book and I’m both ecstatic and nervous because it means editing is getting closer and closer, which I’ve also never done.
But right now is the time to worry about finishing my first draft!

Writing Update #4
I did a decent amount of writing over the weekend, I didn’t get as much accomplished as I hoped to because Andrea and I have started the process of planning a book we want to co-write. However, I finally finished chapter 5 and chapter 7. So I’ll take those accomplishments!
